Returns & Exchanges

We know that selecting the right size online can be tricky. We highly encourage you to try on and shop Gnara at your local independent retailer or gear store, but if there isn't one near you,* we provide hassle-free returns for online store credit and free even** exchanges on eligible orders in new condition within 30 days within the contiguous U.S.:

  • If you prefer a refund to your original payment method, a return shipping fee of $7 to $12 will apply based on your location.*** This fee varies instead of being a flat rate to cover the exact cost of shipping the product back to our warehouse. We're anti-fast fashion, and believe in transparently sharing the true cost of business. Gnara covers all costs associated with processing your return, including restocking, repackaging, inspecting the returned goods, and handling reverse logistics operations. You're welcome!
  • Requests for returns or exchanges on eligible items must be made within 30 days of receiving your order.**** We understand that life gets busy, but as a small business, we sell out of popular sizes and colors often. It creates logistical headaches for us and other customers when returns or exchanges are requested outside of that standard window, as it affects set inventory levels and planning around them. Please don't beg us -- this is standard policy for brands of all sizes for a reason. 
  • Please note the return policy at the time of purchase (see below). Shipping fees are non-refundable. Gnara does not offer exchanges of exchanges. We also cannot process returns on items that have already been exchanged. We have size charts, personalized fit assistance, hundreds of customer reviews, and a plethora of real life customer fit videos and pictures all over socials to help you find your perfect fit!

Please note: Items noted as 'Final Sale', during specific sale periods or otherwise, are not eligible for exchange nor return. Other restrictions you may see, all of which are noted directly on the product page description and clearly in sale descriptions when applicable:

  • Exchange Only - Please note that items within our store, marked as 'Exchange Only' at the time of purchase can only be exchanged, not returned for a refund. These items will be clearly marked as 'Exchange Only' in the product description. International customers please see standard international return policy.

  • Final Sale - Please note that items marked as 'Final Sale' or purchased at VIP discount pricing are not eligible for returns nor exchanges. These items will be clearly labeled as 'Final Sale' in the product description, or the discount messaging will communicate this status.

    Curious about why? At Gnara, we occasionally offer discounts to help make more room in the warehouse for new game-changing products, as well as to help make gear that wouldn't ordinarily be affordable to some more accessible. We're grateful to be able to offer sales from time to time to accomplish this, but steep discounts come at the cost of being able to absorb the additional cost of exchanges and returns, both of which we lose money on. In order to help you do your business, we've gotta be able to do ours! If you're worried about these restrictions, we recommend waiting to buy during a non-sales period, which is most of the time, when they don't exist :)

Return Condition:

To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be in the same NEW condition that you received it: unworn, unwashed, unstained, unused in the wild, and with tags still attached.

Return Protocol: 

  1. Process your exchange or return through the Gnara Exchange & Return Portal
  2. Print your return label. (If you did not receive one, please contact the Gnara Team)
  3. If possible, please return items in original packaging, including the clear bag provided, to ensure the product is protected in transit (and to reduce plastic waste)
  4. Apply your return label.
  5. Seal and return to your nearest USPS.
  6. Returns will process once they have been received and inspected by our warehouse team.

Additional Considerations:

  • Real humans at our warehouse will need to inspect your return. They will make sure that items still have hang tags attached and are free of dirt, grass, food, deodorant, etc. stains, pet hair, and anything else. If you wouldn’t re-gift your pants to a friend or wouldn't be stoked to receive them as a customer yourself, please don’t return them to us. If they're no longer new condition, they still might be a great fit for a consignment shop or other used gear store. Please help us cut down on apparel waste by doing your part to make sure they don't end up in a landfill.
  • We reserve the right to adjust return payments if original items are not received in resellable condition. If you return a damaged product, we can’t resell it, and this directly hurts our ability to stay in business and fulfill our mission to help everyone "go" on the go.
  • Additionally, we can only process exchanges and returns for products purchased directly from gnara.com. If you bought from a Gnara dealer, please contact them directly.

Ineligible for return: 

  • Merchandise purchased at 50% off or more
  • Merchandise marked Final Sale
  • Items that have already been exchanged
  • Gnara Merch (i.e. Tees, Kulas, Hats, Beanies, Stickers, Zipper Pulls, Patches)
  • Gnara Gift Cards
  • Merchandise purchased from a Gnara dealer

    **Our return and exchange portal (via Loop) will show you exactly what is in stock and eligible for an even exchange or return in real-time. As is standard practice, even exchanges means an exchange for for a different size or color of the same product (color must be the same price). 

    ***A shipping label fee will be applied to all exchanges and returns from Alaska, Hawaii, and Military addresses, given the extra cost these locations incur. 

    ****Our Extended Holiday Return Period: (Because we know life is extra busy during this time!) For Holiday orders purchased between Nov. 1, 2024, and Dec. 20, 2024, returns and exchanges on eligible products were accepted through January 25, 2025. Please note the return eligibility of your item at time of purchase. Does not apply to items purchased at Final Sale pricing. On Dec. 21, 2024, we returned to our standard 30-day return/exchange window which means you must request a return within 30 days of receiving your order.
